Eligibility, online application, documents, subscription rates, adding dependents, and lifetime card for pensioners. Everything you need to start using CGHS at Gini Hospital.
CGHS covers central government employees and pensioners only — not state government.
Monthly subscription is deducted from salary (employees) or pension (pensioners).

Pensioners' subscription is based on pension grade. Verify exact rates at cghs.nic.in or with AD CGHS Chandigarh (0172-2740716).
You can add a new dependant (e.g., newborn baby, newly wed spouse, newly eligible parent) at any time via the CGHS portal or at your Wellness Centre.
Required: updated CGHS card application, dependant proof documents (birth certificate, marriage certificate, Aadhaar of dependant), and your original CGHS card for endorsement.
Processing time: 2–3 weeks. In urgent cases (newborn requiring treatment), the Wellness Centre can issue an OPD slip pending card update.
If you have transferred to a new CGHS city (e.g., from Delhi to Chandigarh), apply for an address change and Wellness Centre reallocation at cghs.nic.in. Your new Wellness Centre in the Chandigarh zone will be assigned.
Documents: transfer order, new address proof, original CGHS card. You can also walk into the AD CGHS Chandigarh office (Kendriya Sadan, Sector 9-A, 0172-2740716).
Central government pensioners are issued a lifetime CGHS card — it does not expire and does not need renewal. It remains valid until the pensioner passes away, after which it can be converted to a surviving spouse card (also lifetime).
Pension is deducted at a fixed monthly rate — even if you are admitted to hospital 3 times a year, you continue paying the same subscription. There is no "usage limit" or claim ceiling for IPD cashless treatment at empanelled hospitals under CGHS.
After you receive your CGHS card, Gini Advanced Care Hospital Mohali is one of the strongest CGHS hospital Punjab options for specialist treatment. As a central government hospital Tricity destination, we welcome CGHS beneficiaries from Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, and across the zone.
Patients from CGHS empanelled hospital Amritsar zone, CGHS empanelled hospital Jalandhar zone, CGHS hospital Patiala catchment, CGHS empanelled hospital Ambala, and CGHS hospital Haryana districts (Panchkula, Ambala) regularly travel to Gini for specialist orthopaedic and endocrinology care under CGHS.
We also serve patients coming from CGHS hospital Shimla zone and CGHS hospital Himachal Pradesh for procedures where Shimla has limited CGHS empanelled specialist hospitals. Gini Hospital Mohali is accessible from across the CGHS Chandigarh zone — patients travel from Amritsar (2.5 hrs), Jalandhar (1.5 hrs), Shimla (3 hrs), Ambala (1 hr), Patiala (1 hr), and Jammu (4 hrs) for specialist care not available locally.
Our CGHS desk coordinates referrals and pre-auth with out-of-city Wellness Centres. Call 0172 4120100 to pre-arrange your visit — we'll confirm what documents to bring so your journey is not wasted.
